Quick answer
Compare the ticket with your travel document, identify the exact mismatch, and contact the issuer promptly. Ask whether the issue is only a display format or requires a reservation or ticket correction.
Classify the issue before calling
| What you see | What to ask |
|---|---|
| Names run together or a title is attached | Is this normal display formatting in the reservation? |
| A letter is wrong or missing | What correction is permitted for this ticket? |
| First and family names are reversed | How are the name fields stored in the booking? |
| A legal name has changed | Which supporting documents and ticket actions are required? |
| A different person wants to travel | Does the ticket permit a passenger substitution? |
Do not make a duplicate booking without advice
Contact the issuer before buying a second ticket merely to change the spelling. Ask for the available options and the consequences for the existing reservation. Keep the departure date prominent if time is short.
On a journey involving other airlines, make sure the response covers all flight segments. Confirmation about one airline does not automatically resolve another airline’s record.
Share only what is needed
Send identity documents only through a verified channel and after the recipient explains what is required. Keep a written record of the agreed correction and request updated travel documents when it is finished.
